The Truth About Ticks

There's a lot of misinformation about ticks out there, so let's listen to an expert to help set the record straight! Join us on Thursday, November 5th at 7 pm for "The Truth About Ticks," at the Humane Society of Huron Valley (3100 Cherry Hill Rd., Ann Arbor).

Presented by Barry M. O'Connor, Professor and Curator at the University of Michigan, this presentation will include information about the life cycle of ticks, types of ticks, and the role that ticks play in disease transmission. A Q&A session will follow the 60 minute presentation.

Barry M. O'Connor holds a Ph.D. in Entomology (Acarology) from Cornell University. He was also a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley and has subsequently served as a visiting professor at Ohio State University (Acarology Summer Program), and the Escuela Nacional de Ciencias Biologicas, Instituto Politecnico Nacional, Mexico City, Mexico.

This program is free and open to the public. Space is limited so please RSVP to reserve your seat. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Patterson, Director of Humane Education at the Humane Society of Huron Valley.
