Global Conservation Group files complaint with DNR

Global Conservation Group (GCG) submitted an emergency 6-page complaint to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources asking them to "deny or reject the City of Ann Arbor's special permit request to cull 100 deer."

GCG performed a poll of 1,070 respondents in Ann Arbor. 98 percent of the respondents are not in favor of a deer cull in Ann Arbor. In their complaint to the DNR, they assert "two percent of residents were upset that deer consumed vegetation on their property" as the primary reason city council voted in favor of the cull.

The Global Conservation Group is also organizing a deer cull protest at Ann Arbor's City Hall (301 E. Huron St.) on Friday, October 9 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. See more information about the Oct. 9 protest here.

(Global Conservation Group is an independent organization based in Wisconsin, and is not affiliated with StopTheShoot.org nor with the Humane Society of Huron Valley.)
