The shoot is stopped?

After 5 years of killing healthy deer, the Ann Arbor City Council voted 9-1 to approve the proposed 2023 budget which did NOT include funding for deer management. We are grateful to the compassionate Council Members who continue to support the humane treatment of wildlife and stop wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars, and to the concerned citizens who advocated for more responsible use of funds and for the deer.

While we are thankful that the City Council is not going to include a deer cull in the 2023 budget, we will keep working to educate and advocate for all wildlife in our community. Animals can’t speak for themselves; they depend on us.
