Residents who live near the Leslie Park Golf Course in Ann Arbor, one of the sites where the city's deer cull is underway, stumbled upon a gruesome scene Tuesday morning.
A torn-apart deer carcass in the middle of the city-owned park and golf course shocked neighbors who came across it during their morning walks.
The body was reported to police and the Humane Society of Huron Valley, which is now conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death.
"I was just out here walking my dog on the golf course, which quite a lot of people do during the winter when it's not in use, and there's a pretty disgusting deer carcass right over there," said Andrew Kraemer, who was with his corgi, Lancelot.
"It's on the edge of the course by the green on the 14, so it's actually fairly close to the neighborhood," he said, describing it as a shocking sight.
